I LOVE THESE WOMEN!I know I’m a little late seeing this movie; I just had the chance to watch it tonight.  What an amazing trio of strong, independent-thinking, unafraid women!  Bravo, Dixie Chicks!  Keep up the fight to defend our freedom of speech in your unique way.  Dear readers, get the documentary and I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

Is this a mobility site?

The few of you who are reading this blog are probably wondering, I thought she launched this site to talk about all-things mobility.  In response to your caring and considerate concerns:  I just haven’t found too many mobility sites (yet) that blow me away.  I plan to continue to scour blogs, sites, and articles to keep y’all as updated as best I can.  In the meantime, I spend much of my day listening to music working hard to finish my thesis, and trying to keep up with news on artists I think you’ll dig working out to tone and tighten the bod.

I’m also considering starting a non-profit based on the DigMyWalker model.  Do any of you have knowledge about how to best go about launching such an endeavor wisely (and inexpensively)?  Check out this bright, young entrepreneur who I had meant to be included on my “links” page, but inadvertently left out:

This gal had the vision and the cohones to create a fantastic volunteer organization.  I really think people want to dontate their time and creative efforts, but don’t want the work to be too overwhelming/depressing.  (Note:  I’ve worked within the eldercare, hospice and other senior-focused organizations for years–none of which have been “depressing” work; kind and caring would-be volunteers may not understand that this type of work really IS  uplifting, not depressing).  Perhaps a creative outlet that will benefit seniors, children, and others with mobility disabilities would  attract volunteers.  Ideas?  Thoughts?  Suggestions?  Caveat utilitor?  What in the h*ll is she thinking?

By the way, WHAT IS THE DEAL with those nasty “cohones” that can be hung (I know, sorry) from the back of a big, ‘ole truck or Hummer?  They aren’t funny, are hardly original, and seem to evoke cringe-like reactions from other drivers while simultaneously immasculating the truck/Hummer driver with one glance of these jewels.  Almost as sexy and appealing as the naked girl on the mud flaps…

The Reed Gratz Band

Reed is the husband of a good friend, and former grad school classmate of mine, Udit. I haven’t seen either of them since leaving Los Angeles a couple of years ago, but think about them and their darling son, Joachim often. Great video, Reed! Keep up the magnificent work!
